Ben Skorstad, Director of Operations

Ben Skorstad first worked with Alan Purwin in 1990 at West Coast Helicopters as Chief Pilot and Check Airman for eight years. After a year at REACH Air Ambulance, Ben re-joined Alan Purwin at Helinet Aviation in 1999, this time as Director of Operations. In this capacity, Ben is responsible for flight operations safety and compliance with all Federal Aviation Association (FAA) regulations and company policies; communicating with FAA and TSA; and coordinating flight and maintenance schedules.

As a pilot, Ben has accumulated 10,000 flight hours. He has worked as an air ambulance pilot for eight years, and, since 1995, flown as a SAG pilot for more than 50 Hollywood productions, including The Lost World-Jurassic Park, Face/Off, X-files, Air Force One, Hollywood Homicide, The Italian Job, Training Day, The Island, Domino, Waist Deep, Deja Vu, The Heartbreak Kid, Transformers, and National Treasure-Book of Secrets. Ben also has extensive experience as a training pilot, and is factory trained on the AS350, AS355, A109, S76 aircraft.

Born in Norway, Ben moved to the U.S. and attended flight school in Ellington, CT in 1987. His ratings include ATP Helicopter-CFI Helicopter.
