Kurt Deetz, Safety Manager
Kurt Deetz has been in the aviation industry since 1989. He first worked for Helinet Aviation from 1990 to 1995 as an electronic news gathering (ENG) line pilot as well as a charter pilot. After taking time off to earn a degree in Marketing and have a family, he returned to Helinet Aviation in 2006. Since his return, his main responsibilities have been as an ENG line pilot for ABC 7, KTTV FOX 11 and KTLA SKY 5.
In 2008, Kurt became Safety Manager. In this position, Kurt implemented a Safety Management System (SMS) and is responsible for maintaining all elements of this system. He is also responsible for tracking and trending all data, as well as updating and testing the Emergency Response Plan and keeping the entire facility OSHA compliant.
As a pilot, Kurt has logged more than 4,000 hours in helicopters. His ratings include Instrument Helicopter and CFI-Helicopter. Kurt also received Safety Management Training from the Southern California Safety Institute (SCSI).
