LAPD and Airbus Helicopters Select Helinet for H125 Downlink Integration
March 09, 2022
Helinet, a provider of aviation technology solutions to the law enforcement, government, and utility markets, announced today its selection by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and Airbus Helicopters to design, furnish, and support a live video downlink system installed in the Air Support Division's new H125 aircraft.
LAPD's existing downlink system, also designed, installed, and supported by Helinet, is a key asset to the air support mission, providing enhanced situational awareness for the department as well as fellow regional law enforcement partners and federal agencies.
With the live downlink system upgrade, LAPD's Airbus H125 will feature a complete law enforcement mission suite installed by Airbus Helicopters at the company's Columbus, Mississippi facility. In addition to designing and deploying the live video downlink system upgrade, Helinet will also provide documentation, training, and ongoing support for LAPD once they take delivery of the helicopter in Q4 of 2022.
"We're proud to continue supporting the men and women of the Los Angeles Police Department," said Jorge Gonzalez, Helinet COO, and former LAPD Air Support Sergeant-Senior Supervisor. "Helinet has done an excellent job servicing the needs of LAPD for over a decade and I look forward to continuing this tradition of excellence."
